Joseph “Joe” Lowery serves as Vice President of Acquisitions at Cohen Investment Group (CIG). Joe is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities and growing CIG’s portfolio of assets throughout the United States. Prior to joining CIG in 2019, Joe was the Portfolio Manager for a publicly traded REIT. He was responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategies for the company’s portfolio of approximately 5.8 million square feet of retail. Joe played a key role in the growth of his former employer and was actively involved in the acquisition of 39 shopping centers through the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest with a combined total asset value of $407,000,000. Prior to joining the REIT, Joe worked in Sales and Leasing at Divaris Real Estate, a regional commercial brokerage firm where he focused on office leasing.
In addition to professional work experience, Joseph serves on the Board of Trustees for the Old Dominion Real Estate Foundation and serves on the foundations Finance and Audit Committee. He is a member of the Management Committee for the Urban Land Institute of Virginia and Hampton Roads and serves as the Young Leader Chair, an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and a is a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Joseph holds a M.S. in Real Estate Valuation from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. In his free time, he likes hiking or relaxing on the beach, playing golf, and is an aviation and car enthusiast.
